Building research capacity in Rwanda

We collaborate with the University of Rwanda (UR) on a capacity building project, which is funded by Sida. Sida provides institutional support for the construction of a sustainable, national research capacity in Rwanda, which is achieved through research training, development of a long-term research strategy, and increased research collaboration.

Our main partner in cooperation is the Center for Conflict Management (CCM) at University of Rwanda. The cooperation started in 2003 and includes:

  • PhD training in Peace and Development Research at the School of Global Studies
  • Developing and running an MA in Peace Studies and Conflict Transformation in Rwanda
  • Strengthening the research capacity at Center for Conflict Management through joint activities such as research seminars, publications, grant applications, and a mentorship program.
