New Associate Professor in Environmental Social Science

Congratulations to Sebastian Linke, who has been appointed as Associate Professor in Environmental Social Science at the School of Global Studies. In 2005, he obtained a PhD degree in History of Science, at the University of Jena in Germany and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology and senior researcher at the Department of Philosophy, Linguistics, Theory of Science at the University of Gothenburg.

His research focuses on the role of science and scientific expertise in environmental governance and decision-making, with a special focus on marine and fisheries management. His research includes analytical approaches from science and technology studies, science communication and human ecology.

Sebastian also has an interdisciplinary teaching experience reaching from natural science to different social science disciplines. As of March 1 he is employed as Senior Lecturer in ESS at the School of Global Studies.
