PhD courses

The course part of the PhD programmes at the School of Global Studies amounts to 60 higher education credits. The number of courses that are compulsory varies between the programmes. Additional courses are decided upon together with the supervisor.

All courses are open to PhD students at the School of Global Studies, as well as to PhD students from other departments in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Gothenburg and other universities. For a course to be offered a minimum of 5 students are required.

Environmental Social Sciences

Peace and Development Research

The compulsory courses are usually given once a year. The other courses are offered at irregular intervals. Contact the director of studies for Peace and Development Research for inquiries and additional information.
