There are two types of research seminars at the School of Global Studies: Disciplinary Seminars and Research Group Seminars. The School of Global Studies also houses Public Seminars, in which for instance staff members and/or visiting guests participate and which are open to the general public.

Research seminars

DISCIPLINARY SEMINARS (in Social Anthropology, Human Ecology and Peace and Development Research)
Disciplinary Seminars are conducted for each of the three disciplines at the School of Global Studies that provides postgraduate studies. These seminars provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of on-going research, future research projects, research applications, as well as methodological and theoretical issues of concern to the particular discipline. An important element is the presentation and discussion of on-going PhD projects.

RESEARCH GROUP SEMINARS (Global Gender Studies, Global Sustainability Studies, Global Resistance Studies, Indigenous Studies, Migration and Diversity Studies, Reconstruction and Intervention Studies)
Research Group Seminars provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of on-going research, future research projects, and research applications of relevance for each interdisciplinary group.

Public seminars

Our public events deal with contemporary issues of concern for the field of Global Studies. The format varies and includes individual seminars, lectures, discussions, workshops, film screenings and thematic seminar series. Examples of the regular thematic series include “Latin America for all" and ”Resistance Studies Seminars". These events are open for all who are interested and they provide both students and audiences from outside the university with an opportunity to learn more about and discuss topical issues.

The seminars are advertised in the calendar.
